- The Kukeri wear a skirt and pants, which are sewn of home woven canvas cover (“pribran mesal”), and are especially tailored for the Kuker Day.
- Each Kuker holds a crook with either one or two curves at the end; it is decorated with tassels and balls.
- “Thundering” with a long whip is a kind of a trademark for the Voinyagovo's Kukeri. The whip is made of plaited strips of sheep skin, and the end is of silk. Special stressfulness and attention are necessary for beating with the whip in order to make it thunder and at the same time be safe for the spectators.
- The Voinyagovo Kuker band always takes a small masked Kuker doll with them to their performances and travels, which is made of wood.
- On the Kuker Day, there used to be traditional scuffles between masked and the non-masked people as they believed letting some blood out would contribute to better grapes harvest and fertility.
- The Voinyagovo villagers do not allow women in the Kuker band, which is already unusual nowadays.
- Alike the other settlements of Karlovo region, there are again two types of masked people in Voinyagovo Village on Kuker Day. They are the typical Kukeri with the uniform masks and bells, one one hand, and other masked on another hand. The little distinction here is that both types are called with the same word “startsi” (“Elders”, the local dialect word for Kukeri).
